In 1968, 22 years after it was purchased, the existing Rhinebeck store was closed, and a new lumberyard was constructed north of Rhinebeck on Route 9. The new building provided 5500 sq. ft. of retail space. By 1980, business had grown substantially and it was necessary to undertake a major renovation to double the store size to 13,000 sq. ft. Five years later, the Rhinebeck store was again expanded to 28,000 sq. ft. designated as an Ace store of the future.
